This Item: Vintage Fred Harvey era cuff bracelet with a lovely spiderweb turquoise stone – possibly from the Red Mountain mine in Nevada. Measurement: Inside measurement of 5-7/16″ plus a 1-1/16″ semi-flexible gap, for a total wrist circumference of about 6-1/2. The width of this cuff measures 15/16″ at center and the terminals are 1/2″ wide. The stone measures about 20mm x 13mm. Weight: 25.0 grams. Hallmarks/Stamp : Stamped,’Sterling’ – no other marks. The stone is in great shape and tightly set. The silver has worn to a silky smoothness both inside and out. Curvature of this bracelet is still good. Comments: In the earlier tourist/railroad era of Native American jewelry making, artists were encouraged to make lighter, easier to craft jewelry. I think this bracelet is likely of that era – it’s not ingot or coin silver, but likely began as a silver strip and possibly a pre-cut (high quality in this case) cabochon.
